Employees at the HanesBrands Surin facility recently celebrated a makeover of the Jarookkwae School in the Prasart district of Thailand, where about one-third of our Surin employees live.
Our employees selected Jarookkwae because while it is well known for its teaching quality, the 43-year-old wooden building was unsafe and in need of renovations.
More than 200 Surin employees, teachers, parents and
HanesBrands and Rotary Club International delivered more than 400 backpacks to Agua Escondida Elementary School students in San Juan Opico, El Salvador.
The backpacks were filled with school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, staples, glue, books, mini dictionaries, dental hygiene kits and vitamins.

In November 2011, HanesBrands unveiled a new computer center at Central School of La Flecha, located in the Department of La Paz, near Hanes’ El Pedregal and Jiboa facilities. The computer center has 12 computers, which are all fully equipped with first-class software, thanks to a donation from Microsoft.

The alliance was named Building Communities to Foster Youth Development (BCFYD). BCFYD had two basic components – school renovations and
