In 2011, HanesBrands began working with a volunteer medical staff from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to provide free healthcare in regions where the company operates in Latin America. To date, Hanes has delivered healthcare consultations and surgeries to thousands of children and adults from underserved communities in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Haiti.
In 2009, the company created a continuing education program in Honduras that affords employees the opportunity to attend free Saturday classes at nearby schools. The program sponsors the education of Hanes employees who wish to return to school to earn their high school diploma.
