HanesBrands United Kingdom supports breast cancer research
The HanesBrands UK team completed The MoonWalk London, wearing decorated bras to walk through the streets of London at midnight, along with 15,000 people on May 13, 2017.
HanesBrands also supported organizing charity, Walk the Walk Worldwide, which is the largest UK grant-making breast cancer charity, with a £10,000 ($13,000) donation.
Walk the Walk has raised more than £117 million ($151 million) since 1996. The charity makes grants for groundbreaking breast cancer research and helps those living with cancer.
This year’s MoonWalk was the momentous 20th year of the event. Thousands of people have participated in The MoonWalk London since it began, with ongoing donations totalling £4.5 million ($5.81 million) in 2017.
Participants took on either a Half Moon challenge of 13.1 plus 2 miles or a Full Moon challenge of 26.2 miles. Both routes passed many of London’s most iconic landmarks, including St. Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London.
HanesBrands UK’s dedicated 16-member team of “moonwalkers” included employees, friends and family, all committed to making a difference in the lives of those touched by breast cancer throughout the UK.
