HanesBrands recognized for CSR work in Latin America

For the third consecutive year, Hanes offices in El Salvador have been recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy called CEMEFI for its Spanish initials – for its contributions to education and community development. Hanes received the 2015 CSR Best Practice Award for Latin America.

Hanes received the award thanks to its contributions in education and support of communities in El Salvador. The company’s practices of empowerment and employee development have earned it this great recognition.

Hanes was the only company in El Salvador to be awarded by CEMEFI in 2015 for corporate social responsibility. The CEMEFI award, which represents a benchmark in CSR in Latin American, recognized the company’s efforts to generate a positive impact in the communities where it operates. One avenue in which the company is doing so is through the continuing education program available for employees.

For the past 15 years, CEMEFI has awarded organizations its CSR Best Practice distinction across Latin America to publicly recognize those companies and organizations that are leaders in CSR practices that have a positive impact on target groups and communities, and at the same time make the organization more successful.
